As the temperatures rise and our obligations fade in the background one question starts to rise. What do i do with all this time? Luckily, videogames exist in this timeline. And since there is nothing better than playing with friends, here are the 5 games you should spend your summer playing. Even though you can still play them when fall comes.
1.- “Fall Guys”
You have heard of this game, for sure. It just came out, but it came out swinging. I mean, of course it came out to be the summer blockbuster of the videogame industry. It has all the ingredients gamers look for nowadays: It’s a Battle Royale, you can play with your friends (and poke them) and all you have to do is play obstacle course minigames until only one person stands.
Sounds fun? That’s because it is. Especially if you gather up your squad and set yourselves loose trolling other people when they try to reach the finish line. Or, of course, troll your own friends, that’s fun too.
2.- “Apex Legends”
EA came down with a vengeance when they launched Apex. They knocked Fortnite off their ivory tower and got millions of gamers hooked into their Titanfall universe Battle Royale. How did they do it? Easily, Mix up Titanfall’s gunplay, jumps, trampolines and ziplines, add some charismatic characters and sprinkle a little death ring on top of it.
On top of that, Season 6 just launched, so there you have the perfect excuse to come back to World’s Edge to kick some bubble gum and chew some ass (or was it the other way around?) with Rampage, the game’s newest legend.
3.- “Red Dead Redemption 2”
You like cowboys and the Wild West? Are you into Rockstar Games? Can’t say no to a sandbox? Red Dead 2 is your game. You’ll have more than you can do (almost literally). From stealing everything within your grasp to helping your fellow neighbours with their little problems.
You can live like a country-man hunting and harvesting your food or you can just buy it (with your own money or with stolen one, it’s up to you). To put the cherry on top, you’ll get to know John Marston’s old gang, Yes, the one you hunt down in the original game. What else can you ask for?
4.- “Planet Zoo”
If you’re into animals, zoos or managing games, this one’s for you, no doubt. You’ll be the owner and manager of your own zoo, which includes all the tasks that comes with it, like cleaning, feeding the tigers and showering the lions. We’re kidding, you won’t have to do all that, all you have to do is decide what’s going where and how will the zoo improve.
Long story short, your mission will be to create the zoo and make it profitable, a mission you can ignore while you keep getting lost looking at all the detailed animals in your facility, 100% recommended.
5.- “Paper Mario: The Origami King”
Mario can’t be left out of any videogame list, that’s just how it is, especially one regarding games you should spend your summer playing. And his newest adventure is so fun and refreshing that you’ll love it, guaranteed. What’s it about? The Origami King came down to Mario’s world to take over, and even bowser couldn’t face him. As usual, it will be our turn to save the day once again.
Puzzles, platforms, paper, origami and Mario are the protagonists in this adventure you’ll take everywhere with you thanks to the Nintendo Switch portability, yes, even the beach.
